This 1940's brooch was given to my mother in Canada from a German POW in the late 40's. It is stamped MADE IN GERMANY WEST #33.

What's the Mystery? Or maybe I should ask, what is it you are trying to find out?
    2. clockfan, 13 years ago
I would like to know how old it is and if it has any kind of value? I have been thinking of taking it apart and making separate jewelery , rings etc.

Oh no please don't take it apart! I would guess it's from around the 50's, and it is a nice brooch with interesting stones. I think if you saw it in an antique store you would have to pay $25.00-$30.00. Lower end if on a on line auction.

I have been doing some research , I know my Mom already had it when she got married in 1948, also after the war '45 to '47 some items made in Germany, were either just stamped Germany or Germany West with West at the end.Not the modern, Made in West Germany you see now.
