I recently bought this lamp and it is signed on the shade (see photo) but the base is not signed. It is also missing the correct heat cap and filial--does anyone know if this is an authentic Handel lamp and does it have any value in the current condition? Thanks! Karen
I am sorry to guess that it's probably not authentic...Good Luck...
Frankie I have to agree with you, sorry Karen. Most often bases are easier to ID then shades. If this shade is not new (hard to tell without seeing it in person) and it is quite old, my guess would be a Phoenix. A few pictures of the base would help to identify it.
Thanks very much for the comments--they confirm other sources--it is still a pretty lamp!
I was contracted for a painting job and broke this owners lamp. It is a Handel opaque farmhouse seen lamp shade Trying to find a replacement I need help. Thank-you Dara
How can you tell if it is a Handel? Are all reverse painted shades signed?
The base does look vintage but I don't think the shade is Handel. The quality of painting just isn't there. It may be an older shade and the 2 pieces married.
