My wife got this for me at an estate sale last week end. We were thinking it was a 22 rifle but found out it is an air dart rifle.

Nice looking rifle. The buttstock is on upside down.
Thanks Gundoc1!!! I will have to change that. Do you know anymore about the gun? I know a little about it but having a hard time dating it.
My book says that H.M.Quackenbush made airguns from 1871-1943.
Thanks Again Gundoc1!!!
rrhode: The 1900 sears catalog lists a couple of the Quackenbush rifles as well as illustrations and prices-The orginal catalog is hard to come by but several reproducts were made in the 1970s that seem to be quite good-
Thanks Sayer34. Thats a good idea I will check ebay today
Hi, your Quackenbush is a very late one with a high serial number but in very good condition (although it could do with some oil on it to stop the rust!) it's a model 1 which is the most common with about 36,550 being manufactured up to the mid 20's. It has a brass barrel which fires a 0.21" felted lead slug. In the uk they are worth between 300 & 450 usd although in poor condition I've bought them for 30 dollars. If your interested in selling please let me know, regards Jon
Jon,
Thank you for the information, you were very helpful. Its good to know about the gun and some history behind it. Also I will oil it tonight.
Thanks rrohde
