Manikin's great old Christmas photos posted a few weeks ago inspired me to post a couple of my own. The first photo is "yours truly" about 1952.
Does anyone recognize the doll under the tree? It looks like most of the toys were cleared away as there were three of us. The second photo is my sister and brother about 1946. I recognize the tinker toys and train set, but not the doll. Nice radio my folks had, though. I dare anyone else to post their "Christmas Past" photos this holiday season. I know I would love to see them!

Hi Macro . The doll under your tree I believe to be a Sweet Sue made by American Character Co . She would have 14 " tall . Love your Picture such great memories of innocence and how fun to look at the old toys .
Thanks for sharing it . Oh and those old wood tinker toys how fun they were even for girls !

Thank you so much, Manikin! I just did some quick research and I'm sure you are correct. I remember she was a walking doll. It also made sense that my mother would buy Sweet Sue dolls for both me and my sister since my sister's name was Sue!

Yes the name would fit with your sister so it would have caught your mothers attention on shelf . Glad I could help solve the mystery doll under the tree :-)
Love these old Christmas photo's hope others will post theirs also so fun to see . And is that you standing in front of tree ? I am sure she is sweet Sue doll too .

Yes, Manikin, that's me in front of the tree. It's hard to tell the name of the baby doll I'm holding. Do you by any chance know the name of the doll in the second photo? It looks like a cloth doll of some sort, perhaps for a younger child. It'll be fun to see if others post their old Christmas photos!

That one looks like a Mollye's cloth doll and the ones on floor by babies feet are oil cloth . Lots of people collect oil cloth doll and animals .
You look as a cute as can be in photo . Because of the back of dolls head your holding I think she look like a baby doll because of no real hair so many companies made baby dolls I would guess she is a horseman type doll co doll. I wish I could see her legs that would help .

marco here is a Molly'es doll they made several styles and dressed different . I am pretty sure that is the doll by baby . Not the specific one on link but same company

Thank you, Manikin! Yes, you're correct, that's a Molly'es doll. You can tell for sure by looking at the hands. As for the doll I'm holding, I know I had a Tiny Tears doll but I think it had short curly hair. Anyway, thanks for your compliment and for your information.

They did make a Painted hair Tiny Tears also and the one your holding could be like her .http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-American-Character-Tiny-Tears-original-rubber-body-doll-WOW-/280780105285?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415fcc6645#ht_4939wt_1396
