My wife's father worked in summers at this farm, loved it. he was only 12 years old, I found this in a box, must be for egg cartons , beautiful? Don't know where to put this here? The farm was in South Sutton, in western Massachusetts.
Love it !
Hi Filmnet...........You have a printers 'type' block here. Although you did not mention its size.......I'm thinking its no bigger than 2 inches square. There were millions of various images used on these blocks throughout the late 1800's and up until about the 1950's. Many were made of wood, such as the one you have, others were made of metal. All of these were designed to be used in a printing operation, and most of them wound up being used to produce ad's in newspapers.
It was from a farm around 1940s The had eggs as you can see, but it was a small family in Western Ma. Saved in a box from my wife's father as a 12yr kid her went to the farm and loved it, he saved them.
love it!
