I found this in my attic and was wondering how old it is and what it is worth. Any information would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

This would have been a very cheap train set when new, unknown maker probably japanese. Don't think it would have much value today, buffs want brand names and realism..Sorry >>>>:-(

It appears to be a MARX engine, made in the USA, probably around the 1950's or so. Not much value to it. I searched on Ebay and they have partial sets
including the complete train, tracks and some buildings. It may not be worth much, but I would keep it just the same if it was mine.

It's a Marx 591. Made from 1953-60. This style came in many lower priced sets. The came with a couple of different type electric motors, clockwork and also battery powered.

I have a similar one that I also found in the attic of my new house. Mine is a little older and less detail, I think its a 898. I have the controller and a few cars and took it to a antique show, there happened to be a guy that specialized in trains. He said it was only worth about $150 for the whole set.
