The first project pictured - a custom Tournadozer Model Super A - was one of my first all-out custom pieces. There was a new Pressed-Steel National Custom Truck Contest and I wanted to build something outlandish to enter. So, I just started adding parts together to make somewhat of a "fantasy" LeTourneau Dozer. Ended up using primarily Nylint and Structo pressed-steel parts and large Ertl tires. I actually won the contest the first year I entered.
The second project is a custom Tonka Heavy-Duty Wrecker built out of a Tonka Fire Engine body with a custom Nylint boom and crane added. The boom swivels and operates nicely. I think this is a highly-accurate piece - I can imagine seeing this truck working in the 1950s and 60s.
Way cool!! Nice work!
I enjoy building customs. In fact, I have two new ones on the workbench right now! JP
