Funny story just happened yesterday if you look the trunks i put here, i was moving one, i locked it ??????????????? O MY , I remembered all these keys and look at them which one would it be? I looked for a name on the trunk it had a name from 1920 in Boston of a store i then looked for a new key because come of this are really old. I saw a small 2 in a bag, look new not dirty at all in plastic with 2 keys, well it opened the trunk!!!!! lucky me

Yeah, seriously. I've been able to find a key in my collection for every piece of antique furniture that's come into my house, it's really quite handy to have them around.

I collect them and keep them for swap value. None of them are worth much for resale value. Skeleton keys are common and still made, the furniture keys and clock keys are a bit more special. I have a guy that buys all my skeleton duplicates and he swaps furniture keys now and then for what I have. Keys are inexpensive to collect and great for swapping. I have had one dresser key pay for dinner and drinks. If you have it and they need it...................
