Pictured is a pre war German made candy container in the form of a house, with Santa in the chimney. The house is made of wood and cardboard and is painted white. When the top is removed this reveals the container section which would be used to store candy or money as a small gift. Pictured with the container is a 1922 Reichmark. During this time individuals and families worked in a cottage industry making items such as this, as well as ornaments for export to the U.S. Many of these items were destroyed due to anti German sentiment during the war.
