    Found this Gouda Vase but don't know what the marks mean or what year?? I hope Stuart is still around he knows everything Gouda! LOL It measures 7 inches tall and at widest 6 inches. Stunning piece! Any ideas kids?? Thanks, Dizzy

      Hi Dizzydave.
      Nice vase. 050 is the mould number, reflecting the imprinted marks I think.
      Below is the name of the design "Massa" and the Gate of Damascus mark. I think the S is the artist's mark.

      Hi,
      The company mark (little house) is the Gate of Lazurus almost always used on Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland Pieces. The date would be from about 1910 to 1917.
      "Massa" is an early pattern.

      Hi DizzyDave. I stand corrected: InDutch is indeed correct about the Lazarusgate.
      I have no idea why I put Damascus down for you .... that's just plain wrong.

      Lazarusgate (1609) is the gateway to the medieval Catharina Hospital, the leper hospital which is the Stedelijk Museum. It gives access to the museum and the museum's garden where you can sit and have coffee or a meal.
