I just acquired this rather tall (30 cm) cased glass vase with a deep orange/red mottled bottom half pulled into a top half that is green aventurine in a field of dark amethyst - the second of this type that I have found. I also have one with pink mottling on the bottom, but they have in common that the green aventurine in the top half is blended into a field of deep amethyst glass (the second image is looking inside the neck of the tall vase with a strong light source behind). Both pieces are rather heavy, and the tallest of the two has a partial circular export? stamp (F/O/O Czecho-Slovakia). These are both very fine pieces that took great skill to make. If anyone else has pieces of this type, I would like to begin compiling images in the hopes of ultimately determining who made this exceptional glass.
under appreciated pieces. Al is usually right but no definitive documentation exists for that importer stamp. the design is consistent with Rukl: strong base color rolled in glass chips then fired. the surface is pulled up like in so many Kralik or Welz pieces. so a good riddle it is...
