What a beauty! And, seemingly a fairly rare set. The lids are Celluloid, a man-made material whose name was first registered as Celluloid in 1870. This set dates anywhere between 1920 and the late 1930s, which is roughly the span of the Art Deco influence. Notice the straight lines in the designs on the covers, that being one of the chief indicators of Art Deco style. The tray consists of two panes of glass, with a piece of lace work sandwiched between them. I had to replace the original lace due to the cleaning process causing it to disintegrate. Seen here are the tray, a powder jar, a hair receiver, and two rouge pots. I am interested in hearing from anyone with more information on this item.
BELLIN"S got good taste ! Very nice !!
