This is a typewriter desk I purchased at an estate sale for a very reasonable price. I can't find any information on how old it is or what its worth. It's 'Open for Business' which was made by Little Home Office, Grands Rapids, Mich. All I know is that the company no longer exists. Has anyone ever seen anything like it? I'm sure it's not 'antique', but it is very unusual.

The first Little Home Office was produced in 1955 by my grandfather V.E. Mark.
There were also companion pieces which included a filer and a Little Home Theater which housed a movie projector. The "Entertainment Center" of it's day.
The Little Home Office allowed the storage space for a typewriter in a piece of convertible fine furniture. The smaller fold down shelf seen in the above photo was intended for placement of a small lamp. The above photo's well represent the operation of the Little Home Office.
V.E. Mark patented all the mechanical assemblies. The cabinets were manufactured of fine materials to his exacting standards. The mechanicals and hardware were then fitted out in Grand Rapids, MI. and shipped internationally.
Sales were primarily from advertisements in publications including Life magazine, travel magazines and one LHO was a prize on "The Price is Right" with Bill Cullen in the 60's.
One unit was sold to the Supreme Court to house the stenographers equipment. Little Home Office was disbanded in the 70's upon his retirement.
I have the same exact piece by the same company also. Does anyone know it's value?

I also have a set.. I can't find any information online. This is the only post I can find on this brand .
