This ring came from an Estate in South Africa. It is of 18cr yellow gold covered with elephant's hair. On both sites of the middle stone (what kind of stone I don't know but the colour is pink and surely not Almandine garnet) are little brilliants. Because I would like to know what kind of stone this could be I would ask you if you have any idea?
It shows how a unusual fine jewel also could be very nice.

Love the ring, could the center stone be pink sapphire?

Thanks Kerry and of course it could be pink sapphire.

Your welcome, the pink sapphire would my guess with diamond accents in that it's a 18k piece

It is one of the prettiest stones I have ever seen. A pink saphire, wow, are they from India? Where does one mine pink saphires? This is such a BEAUTIFUL ring, Love it, mich

I know what your stone is! Its called a "padparadscha" saphire, they are very rare and very valuable, thats why it is accented with diamonds! Very very rare, you just NEVER see them. I saw this and I thought, "I know what that is! Its elephant hair!" but you already knew that... I'm impressed Agram! I would think that very few jewelry-lovers would recognize elephant hair jewelry. What a fantastic piece!! It is quite valuable too, don't let this one out of the family!

Thanks I found this ring myself in South Africa , years ago and in amoment I was in love! But the stone, also admiration but I did not know what stone it was, thanks!!

If this ring is from South Africa the stone is more likely to be a pink tourmaline. Tourmalines come in many colours ranging from black (alginite) to green, yellow and pink. You can even get watermelon tourmalines which include this particular shade of pink. BUT without doing a spectroscopic test on it I cannot confirm. Also the hardness of stone would determine if it was sapphire or tourmaline. Tourmalines are about 7 to 7.5 mohs and Sapphire is 9.
