I was excited to win this rare set at auction, but I was on pins and needles waiting for the eight pieces to be shipped in one box - the underplate is almost 13 inches across and the pitcher is 12.5 inches tall. The pitcher is marked with the Harrach "feather plume" mark. Solid vaseline glass handle, and the whole set glows brilliantly under black light. Expertly enameled. Harrach produced several different varieties of mottled glass - in addition to the uranium glass pictured here, they produced yellow variegated glass for Moser, and several varieties of marmoriertes type glass to compete with Loetz. Stay tuned - I have another large bowl on the way in this same type of glass that matches a marked pair of vases that have been in my collection for years, and will post photos here when that arrives.
Nice, clean Harrach mark!
Yep, that is the Harrach "Clean" mark! I have it on a few other pieces - the mark is occasionally also found in red.
My question for the community is - should I display this piece on the tray or set the tray into a plateholder behind the set? The pitcher is fairly heavy, and I wonder about the effects of leaving it on top of a glass platter for an extended period of time.
