This porcelain stand with European blue and white design is attributed to the United Wilson Factory Hong Kong pre 1960, does not look like the wilson factory mark to me, but several experts claim it is pre 1960 and rare? I think, if they do not know, they blame Hong Kong. I like it because the lion on the left looks like he is flipping the bird.

I agree Dean, the mark is a copy of the Brits. Some porcelain copies are collected and the United Wilson Factory Hong Kong has a following. They are around 50 years old and seem to catch a high price on eBay? Could just be the dark blue and white porcelain that the bidders are after? Being a copy does not necessarily mean no value or not rare. Take Tang pottery as an example; the items on eBay are all copies from the the Tang dynasty style of 618–907 and that is a thousand years of copies.

I got the umbrella stand to hold my canes and walking sticks; and my homeowner insurance covers my entire estate and not each item. If an item needs a formal valuation it does not belong in my house; it needs to be sold!!
