I had inherited the fruit bowl and candlesticks from my grandmother.

Sadly one of the candlesticks broke and I have been trying to find new ones. Then in the last few years I have been looking for other pieces. So far I have gotten a tall, twisted compote, and a canape dish that matches the same pattern, which I don't know the name of (if anyone know...please tell me!). Still looking for more!

All are made by US Glass/Tiffin.

These Tiffins pieces are Elegant Glass and may be vaseline glass; have you checked they under black light. The decoration looks to be cut and most likely done by a third party decorating house. It is hard to tell from the images but the cutting may be 'Cornflower' by W. J. Hughes.
the center handle server is Tiffin #179
the compote is Tiffin #315 or #15315 spiral stemmed/footed
Here is a good site for Elegant Glass and link to the Tiffin pages:

      Thanks for the information!

Fortunately I already knew the maker was US Glass/Tiffin Glass and that it was made in their PA glass factory sometime around 1924 (give or take a few years either way).

Yes, it is Vaseline and there is no doubt, as it glows quite brilliantly, even without a black light. It contains one of the higher amounts of Uranium produced, evident by he color and glow.

I already knew the ID numbers of the pieces also as it has been listed in many Vaseline Glass catalogs. I also know that those pieces at that time were sold in home decor shops and sent out to be etched not etched by Tiffin themselves, but to date I hadn't been able to identify a pattern name. But now maybe you have given me that.

Someone else had told me that it could haven been called Cornflower also, but I have also heard that the pattern name could have been called Daisy Chain by one person. Either way, I am leaning more towards the Cornflower name, but did not know who might have etched them until now, and did not know that it was of the Elegant Glass catagory.

Thanks so much for the helpful insight!

Well, I found the pattern for a jar with the Cornflowers pattern recently listed on eBay. Here's a link to it:

Sad to say, it's not it. : ( And while that pattern has similarities, I still will keep looking. I am wondering if Hughes could have etched this one too?
