WW1 saw the development and use of distinctive Divisional patches on uniform tunics and helmets.

This particular example is for the 36th Infantry Division and came off of a tunic.

The patch is three piece with OD oval, blue arrowhead and OD "T".

The 36th Division was known as the Arrowhead or Texas Division and its troops came from the Texas and Oklahoma National Guard. It reached Europe in JUL 1918 and fought in the Meuse Argonne Offensive. The Division suffered about 2500 casualties, which included 466 KIA. The Division was deactivated in 1919, but was reactivated in 1940 for extensive use in WW2.
