Among Loetz collectors, the designs that were exhibited in Paris in 1900 are among some of the rarest and most desirable pieces. This Loetz Phänomen Genre plate was displayed in Paris in 1900. It is 12.75" in diameter and has a very bright iridescence against an orange ground.

This is without a doubt the rarest piece of Loetz I have ever come across. It was so large, it dominated almost an entire shelf in our cabinet. This is the only photo I took of the plate. The plate was in my possession for one day before two collectors began making me a series of ridiculous offers via direct viewings on Skype.

The second photo is from Ploil's rare and wonderful book on Paris 1900 and shows an exact example of this plate. The large line drawing is from Volume 2 of Ricke. The current owner provided the very last photo showing the piece upon display in his cabinet of treasures.

Interesting, I have a similarly sized Loetz platter as well, done in something similar to Titania Genre 2516 Perl glass, and it's footed.
