I think the last picture looks like a 45 star flag, so turn of the century. I notice in many of the patriotic pictures from that period that it apparently wasn't disgraceful to let the flag drape on the ground...or apparently hang a hat on it!

The flag on the right in the last picture does not look like a US flag - anybody know what it might be?

The aircraft pictured is a P51 Mustang that saw US service in WW2 and Korea.

Was your Dad in WW2 as well?

In the photo next to the track team, the guy third from the right, bottom row is wearing a CBI patch (China Burma India theater) on his left shoulder. Maybe the patch had early Korean War useage?

Actually i guessed Korea He was a pilot for 26 years,1943 in India he flew over the mountains to the west of China, to support the Flying Tigers, without oxygen many planes never made it over the mountains. He was given the Distinguish flying cross for this. He was all over Asia for years, so after i was born 1954 we lived in Washinton DC He knew all the generals they had parties at our house , i used the be upstairs, but i was looking and listening for years. By 1961 he have 4 kids, so my mother all kids moved to Thailand for 3 years,I lived like a King. He flew all the generals around to Cambodia Vietnam, Burma , Japan. and brought coins home for me to save i will post some soon here, i have his last fly suit from Vietnam, he flew the guy in charge there i forget his name the general. He had the same guy working on his plane for 15 years, They went back to Vietnem in 67, so sad he told us kids, finally his best friend was killed in the street there, he was o mad, the generals let him go home 1969 finished with the Army. In 1965 he had over 10,000 hrs

Great items-- glad to see them still in the family.

Was he an enlisted pilot in WW2?

I see in the Viet Nam images he was a Captain.

With that many hours, I bet he was one heck of a pilot!

Yes joined as a helicopter pilot in Florida school, crashed one, broke a leg,. Talked about being in the hospital in traction in and army hospital Jacksonville Florida. No air condition he said it was worst than being in India, or Thailand, Vietnam heat,. A colonel came into his room and asked him do you want to fly planes then no more Helicopters. He said this guy saved his life, flew from 1943-1969

Great story, was in Flight school in Jacksonville they once landed on the beach with small planes to talk to the girls, they got caught.
