I usually don't mess with these more modern Army dress uniforms, but because of the cloth ribbon grouping I decided to purchase it.

The uniform belonged to a Sergeant First Class (SFC) who had Korean War service. Ribbons include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation, National Defense Service, Korean Service (with three bronze campaign stars), and United Nations Korean Service.

The combat patch is the 25th Infantry Division with a 5th Army current unit of service.

This is the earliest Army Green uniform I have seen.

My Army green uniforms were issued to me at Fort Ord in 1961 and I still have them today. I also still have the dress blues from my time in the Honor Guard.

The big question tom-- does it still fit?

No way could I get into my first set!

I haven't tried to jump into the uniform in 15 years, but my guess is NO!!!!!

I had one of these 1956 enlisted green uniforms. An MP grouping, complete with hat, shoulder courd, sam brown and holser. Had MP collar discs, and a nice wool MP arm band. Sold it on Ebay for $275.00....regret, regret, regret....but I NEEDED the $$$ at the time

the tag was dated just like yours was...and it was a size 42 long.....regret :(

These "first generation" greens are a little harder to find than the 1960s versions.

The larger sizes are also a plus.

I got this jacket for $20.

Scott, I have a bunch of these ribbons... You collect those too?
    12. scottvez scottvez, 11 years ago
Yes-- it depends on the ribbon. Bars with several ribbons are more desirable, but some of the individual ribbons are collectible.

Ribbons for valor awards are much more desirable than service ribbons.

I'd be happy to help to ID yours if you post them on this site.

Thanks Scott... I bought a box lot of vintage jewelry that came with a whole lot of military things. I will try to post them on CW for feedback...
