OK, still looking for a vintage coke sign as a Christmas gift - looking on eBay because i havevery limtd time. I've wathed the auctions for a while to get an idea of prices, etc. The one pictured here looks really nice - almost too nice of condition for the price, IMO. Anyone have an opinion as to whether it's a repro?

Also, does raised lettering add value to the sign typically? I see some that the lettering can be seen from the back so I know it's raised, some, like this one, have flat backs.

btw, now I see how folks get "addicted" to coke collecting - so much cool, old stuff and all a brief lesson in history!

Authentic 1941. Listed in Petretti's page 204 value in near mint condition is $650. This one is rough (seen worse) so nowhere near that value. My opinion: If you can pick it up for 1/4 book, that's a good deal.

Dave nailed it, I will say the same, in fact I wouldn't even buy that beat up thing. But I'm very picky!

Ha. I didn't buy this one because it was too "sappy' for my son. HOWEVER, I just posted the one I DID buy. If you guys think the one here is beat up, wait 'till you see the rusty hunk of junk I DID buy! I'm happy with it though... not a picky collector, just a dad getting a cool item for his son who loves to watch "American Pickers". Mine is certainly "farm fresh"!
Thanks for all the fast help here. Great site.
