Anyone have any idea about this toy car? It is 7.5" long, die cast aluminum with metal wheels. It is #1 on the front and back of the car and has the words Playmate Peru, Ind. on the underside with the N0.3

Looked everywhere for the Playmate company in Peru, Ind with no luck.

The cars were made in 1945 and 1946 and were the original toys made by hand. The one you have shown above is the larger size, there is a smaller one. The company orginally named Playmate was owned by Mr. Oglesby of Peru, IN who designed the cars with a friend and later designed a line of jeeps and tractors, as well as, a futuristic type car. The name of the company was changed in 1948 and the jeeps and tractors are usually stamped with Oglesby, a number and Peru, IN. I have 2 small race cars and 2 large as well as 2 different type jeeps and I live in Peru, IN. I was able to find the information at the local museum.
