    I wouild appreciate any help in identifying the company and the characters of these lamps. As far as I can tell they are brass with some type of stone marble base.

      Your lamps are of Mercury and Fortuna. They appear to be cast brass. Fortuna would originally have had a feather in her out stretched hand and Mercury would have had a staff in his left hand. These appear to be missing. If you do some research with the names I provided, you can find auction values. I hope this helps.
