Not relly sure what to say - I found these New York Times Playing Cards in my mothers house a while ago and I do not know to much about them. There are 2-sets of playing cards (1 open, 1 un-opened) along with the case that reads - Readers of the New York Times are teh most entertaining people. And the 2 sets of cards have headlines that read 1. 3 Men fly around the moon only 70 miles from surface: Fire rocket, head for Earth. 2. Lindberg does it! To Paris in 33 1/2 Hours: Flys 1,000 Miles through snow and sleet: Cheering French carry him off field.

They seem old and very unique as I have not found anything online about them.

If anything can tell me anything about them I would really appreciate it.

Also interested in if they have any value as well?

      Any help would be great!

Info which probably dates these nice decks which were no doubt made for the first manned lunar orbital mission, making 10 orbits around the moon. The New York Times, Dec 25, 1968 headlined "3 Men Fly Around The Moon Only 70 Miles From Surface; Fire Rocket, Head for Earth." The three crew members were Commander FRANK BORMAN; and Command Module Pilot JAMES LOVELL. Also NASA scientist-astronaut JOSEPH P. ALLEN who had joined the space program the previous year. They are very cool and as a card collector I have never heard of them so perhaps they are fairly rare.

Thanks for the info CardLover. Reallly informative stuff.
Thanks Stefdesign, I think so as well. Just wish I knew more about them...

Any other info from anyone with and knowledge of these cards would still be greatly appreciated.

Still looking for what someone might think they are worth as well?
