This was my grandmother's great grandmothers oil lamp. I loved it my entire life and it now sits in my bedroom. I wish I had asked more of the history when she was still alive but I do know it has traveled a lot!! It once was even transported in a covered wagon. We have modified it to use electricity so we can enjoy the perfect lighting it creates. It is very detailed with sculptures of Lion faces molded in the glass and handpainted detail as well. Anyone seen another one like it??? ANy idea what it is worth...

This type of lamp is my absolute favorite. It's commonly called a chamber lamp. It was produced by the Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co.
I'm pretty sure this lamp is called a Lion Head. I would call around and ask other lamp dealers about possible values. Or, try to contact http://www.oldlampvalues.com to see if they could tell you.

No, meaning I haven't seen one like it but would like to see one on my dresser.

It is so beautiful, I love it especially because of its colours.
