Another Murano piece in my collection. Being such a common design the possibilities are endless but as far as I've seen it could be Flavio Poli for Segusso or Alessandro Mandruzzato but... who knows?
Sometimes the shape of the top (seen from above) (round or square) will give it away! Luigi Mandruzzato did them with round shapes. Does Alessandro still do them?
Ermanno Nason and La Serrimisima also did these facetted pieces..
I think there was also a Scandinavian version?
Thanks vetraio! Seen from the top the mouth is a square one, so can we discard Mandruzzato then? :)
I've seen some simmilar designs from Strömbergshyttan and even Kaj Franck have one that looks a bit like this one -only they use one layer of coloured glass in both cases. It looks like the model has been copied obver and over again... it seems it's going to be hard to identify this one :)
¡¡¡Gracias!!!
It could also be the middle Mandruzzato .... Gianfranco.
It makes you believe in keeping labels or preferring signed pieces.
Many years ago I decided to go with signed pieces. But between you and me that was probably a mistake and I let a lot get away. I should have trusted my eyes instead.
Well... I bought this one a long time ago, when I would buy anything I liked. Now I just go for items of certain designers or factories... at least is a way to know I'm getting "the good thing"... In my case, specializing (on Per Lütken and Nanny Still mostly) has been a great thing.
In any case I'll keep my eyes open just in case i find one just like this... with a sticker on it :)
it looks like a vase of my own production.
yes it is!!
My grandfather Luigi , starts in 1956 the production of these kind of work, called " MOLATO" and my father Gianfranco too.
My interior line is still the same , with some modification , and the new production of Art Pieces.
Who is interested can see the web-site: http://www.mandruzzato.ve.it or http://www.alessandromandruzzato.com.

Ciao austrohungaro!
Great to see Alessandro Mandruzzato recognizing this vase!
What's your Italian like?

I've also noted his use of the term 'vetro molato' as a generic term for facetted glass.
Sorry guys........our Italian likes are pizza. But we do view your postings.
Ciao Alessandro. Grazie mille per le informazioni. Sono felice di aver identificato il vaso come quello della creazione della vostra famiglia.
I have one with a sticker :)!!
The beautiful blue one I've seen on FB!!! :)
It is a Made in italy one, isn't it? Does it tell who the maker is? This one seems clear to be a Mandruzzato one -as the maker's son identified it.
Yes it is the blue one on fb :) it is made in Italy :) yes it is :)
I can't now because Scotty is on the PC:)
Beautiful. I have a blue one on eBay at the moment, no label sadly. I try to stick to collecting late 19th early 20th century glass only but do love some of the MCM stuff, these vases being one, I just don't have the space or funds for both :(
