Need some help from any military collectors out there who can identify this patch. I acquired an antique/vintage handmade black wool & red satin reversible nurses' cape at an estate sale recently, and this embroidered patch is sewn onto the cape. The lady who owned the cape had been a nurse, her husband was a veteran, and there were many military collectibles in the house from WWI & WWII. I am assuming the cape is a military nurses' cape, but cannot find any similar online for comparison. The liquidator at the sale had no knowledge of military or nursing items, so this cape and patch are a mystery to me. If it is military, I'd love to be able to date it and to know the meaning of this cool patch. If it is not military, can anybody please tell me what I have here? Any info is greatly appreciated.
