Hello! This is an old WWII item that I have no clue as to what it was used for. This is large in size measuring about 5 inches by 4 inches. This has one long screw/bolt in the back that is about 4 inches long. Im in search of finding what exactly this was used for. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well first off, I got to say LOVE it. Then I'd be guessing but have seen similar item on the door to the CO's office, while in the Corps. When you find out the excact usage, I'll be watching for the updated posting.

This is a Marine logo I going out on a limb but possibly a grave stone marker attached to a Marine's grave . My Husband is a Marine says it is not a military issue . There are alot of experts in military on CW so lets see what they say / Good luck on getting a precise answer . Love it !

      Thank you kerry10456 and Manikin.
Both answers sound logical, hopefully I will find out for certain.

After months of asking around I still have no answer as to what this was used for. It is the largest EGA I have ever seen.
