This was used in addition to a life ring in the mid 30's. Patent applied for in June 1936, approved in Jan 1938. The one pictured has no patent no. so may be prototype, states on front, approved by inspecting supervisors. It was attached to the life ring with a chain and then floated in the water powered by a dry cell battery. In very good condition for 75 yrs old, nice patina, small dent possibly caused from use if you were to look up the patent it was pulled out of its mounting bracket and automatically turned on and went with the life ring. Dent therefore may have been caused by use...lol
Like the brush and tray! Any marks? Japanese or US?
