    austrohung…
    (584 items)

This was one of the first five glass items I ever got. I loved the irregular oval shape and the deep cobalt blue at its base, but the sellers couldn't tell me exactly where it came from. They said it could be Italian or British... but it could also be French, maybe Bayel, but it has no signature at all and I think at Bayel they did mark their glass items.

Anyway, if someone can tell me something about this vase I'll be sincerely thankful to him/her.

    - - - - - -

As Antiquerose asked me to upload some pics of the bathroom at the studio I have just uploaded a few. There's no images of the artwork but I would like to keep it private.

On first pic -top left- there's the bookshelf, some books and some nice glass pieces on top. Some eople will be in shock to see I have my Sarpaneva's Claritas in the bathroom but... I cannot think of a better place to enjoy it... always in a very relaxed mood ;)
The stools are Tam-Tam (the green one, designed by Henry Massonnet) and Ingvar (the red one, apparently designed by Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA's founder, for Habitat).
The encaustic tiles on the floor were custom made. I chosed the grey tone which ended up being a very soft green (because of my computer showing every colour less yellow than it should), but it was a very succesful mistake :)
The artwork is dipaled over the bookshelf (which, by the way, used to be Carlos's mother's bed footboard -from when she was a girl...- ).

On pic 2 -top right- the Matthieu Mategot shelf unit with ore glass. The blue and clear bowl is on display on it.

On pic 3 -bottom left- some Swedish design items (an ashtray by Monika Bratt for Rejmyre and two teak and glass items) on the sink and an old towel rack from the 30s made out of brass and glass. We've got a larger double one (two glass bars) by the shower.

On pic 4 -bottom right- the bathroom door from the inside. The wooden mask was a part of a mirror or a frame... not really sure. I cannot tell how old it is. There is some artwork on the blank wall by the door, over the towel rack.

The ceiling lamp was impossible to photograph... it's an art deco ball lamp from Germany, very simple, but in a bathroom with such a high ceiling (3 meters high as it was lowered by the previous owners... it's 3,50 meters high in the rest of the house) it looks spectacular. The building was built in 1890 (although I think the foundations are much much older), which explains such height!

Mmmm, it doesn't look Scandinavian to me at all, so it might be French... I'll try and look for some Bayel stuff pictures, jut in case they have the same base. Thank you so much!"

Thanks Rose. This piece will remain a mistery until i find a pic of a simmilar one with the original label on it... I have always liked it and I'm glad it's got a place at the new studio (whereas lots of pieces have gone to storage boxes). Well, actually it's in the bathroom... but very well displayed :) This room has got a Spanish art-deco low bookshelf (displaying books and glass items), a Mategot hanging shelf from the 1950s, two modern design stools and some nice engravings... not an ordinary bathroom at all :)
