I have this wonderful wooden mantel clock and I don't know anything about it. It has a wonderful hand painted landscape scene of a barn on the glass door.The clock is about 15" Tall and about 7.5" wide. I wasn't able to see any makers mark on the inside of the clock and the dial appears to have some marks on the inside but I can't see what they are of. I have no clue what type of wood this clock is made of either. It appears to have an outer wood paneling (rosewood?).
Any information about this clock would be greatly appreciated. Information I am looking to learn about it; maker, age, period, style, value, etc. Thank you very much for your help.
This is a delightful 19th century american clock in amazing condition that you have. I seems to have an alarm system also that you set of by turning it with your finders. I believe that maker may be Jerome, is it visible enough on the label on the inside back of it? If the label is not dated also, I would say 1870's. Lovely!
It's called a "beehive" clock... https://secure.skinnerinc.com/asp/fullCataloguese.asp?salelot=2431++++++74+&refno=++752241
