    I recently picked up this doll in a junk shop in Th Netherlands. I thought she was cute, and her clothes are excellent quality. Her multicoloured stripped skirt is actually thick woven material. She has bloomers on that have a fine lace edge. Her arms and legs are strung on, and there are marks in her legs here they have smoothed out the seems when she has been made. Her face is hand painted. She is about 15cm long. I would love to know more about her if anyone is able to identify her, as she has me fascinated. is she Dutch, or German? or maybe Eastern European.

      Any markings on her ? She appears to be german novelty doll from 1940's

      Hi, Thanks for your reply Manikin..can't find any markings, and can't remove the clothes...going by feel, there seems to be a V shaped indent at the back of the neck near the shoulder blades...great that you feel she is German...on first look I thought mayne she was dutch, but the headdress is more German I thought, and her feet are painted black to the ankles.. Thanks for you input...appreciate it!

      I am sure she is German she looks like she is made of celluloid and the mark in consistent with the dolls from Germany it may have a triangle on back also called turtle mark .
