i have had this watch for about 8 years now and my grandfather had it for an unknown amount of time.
i have looked all over the web for some info on this pocket watch but nothing has helped me. the watch is in a 14K gold case, works flawlessly and says 15 jewels inside.
i am not a watch person so i know nothing about them
please help me
my email is zackattk@yahoo.com
i am looking at any info you have and value
thank you!
zackattk, if you post picture or list the serial number off of the movement, there are several people on this site that will give you info as to the date of manufacter and such. Is it a 14k solid case or does it say 10 ,20, 25 year warranty? Appears to be a nice timepiece, thanks for sharing.
It is 14k it has no warranty info. Were would I post pics off of here?
The movement of the watch itself will have a serial number. Take another straight on shot and I'll see if it can be made out. The second picture is to fuzzy on my end, lol. The case would be worth several dollars just in "melt" value, but so many have gone that way, it makes these worth more to collectors. As a family heirloom, it is priceless, but just a quick est of value, not knowing the age, I wouldn't sell it for less than $500-600.
the number on the mechanicals is 36153456. 15 jewels. when it is open it also has some "romen numerals" on the side. IIII IIX V
the case says, Wadsworth, 14 kARAT, 984074
i cant take a pic right now, im at work
That serial number dates the watch to 1935. Here is a link to that date chart:

Wow, that's older than I thought!! What do u think the worth is on this?
If it was mine, I wouldn't let it go for less than $700, And beings your grandfather left this to you, I wouldn't sell it at all, would pass it along down the generations to come. But that's just me.
I would look at a Cooksey Shugert watch value Book. Available at most bookstores. 14K Cases are worth Much More Than their weight in gold. The majority of those cases were scrapped years ago. Its more valuable as time goes by......
Ps. Its in Nice Shape. Wrap it Nicely.
