This is crazy I got this at a wrecking yard for cars I found it interesting and of course it stood out because it had absolutely nothing to do with cars this is a large frame measuring 40" X 30 1/2 " I cant say how much it weighs but it is very heavy if anyone can tell me anything about this and what the writing may say it may help me identify it and identify the artist

I believe the Japanese associate 'koi' with perseverance, courage, the family and good luck. The character for 'koi' also is the character for 'love'. Two koi swimming together against the forces of the stream.

Is there anything more anyone can tell me about this

Not too much more. It might be folded brass. If so then it is fairly new; there is no tarnishing. Brass might explain the weight. I think it could be a tourist piece.

No it looks like paper I think the weight is all in the frame it is large and solid
