      This kind of basket critter was popular in the 70s. Can't remember where they were made- probably China.

      I have a shanghai handicrafts baket that I think is a lion...it has a sticker on mine that also says made in the people's republic of china. That's all I can tell you abot them,sorry..mine is on here too.

      This is a basket made by Shanghai Handicrafts. I have the same one and it has a label on the bottom that says "Shanghai handicrafts, 325-5203, Made in the People's Republic of China". I think it is meant to be a parrot, not a chicken. Made anywhere from the late 60's through the mid 70's.
