We had a real Econoline like this with the side boards back in the day so I had to make a replica of it. I still need to do some decals.
I added interior and scratch built the side boards, tail lights and rear bumper.
Enjoy
Nice work. May I ask from what the seats and console for the interior originally came? Also, I LOVE the dashboard decal. Please let me know where this decal is available. Thanks. James
VERY nice rework, great job!
I put 'like it' just to be different !
Thanks All! The seats are from a Johnny Lightning 1/18 55 Chevy sedan delivery and the engine box is a 1/25 cooler made of resin. The decal is a 1/16 scale JD 3020 dash decal and the steering wheel is No STW-003 from So Mo Farm Toy Parts, somotoys@hotmail.com
I super glued a styrene sheet cut out for the flooring before painting the truck.
Here is the complete build http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/pressed-steel-dieca/custom-large-trucks/nylint-econoline-allens/
As a collector at first I cringed, but it turned out excellent. Customs done right are awesome. Nice one.
Thanks Mike.
I would not have done this to a nice truck. The other side was not near as good as the side shown. I do have a few of these that are in excellent shape as well.
I figured as much. The build process looked pretty cool, turned out great.
Thanks for the loves,
I never did get the decals made but it's still on the bucket list.
VERY Nice work on this!! That's way out of my skill level. Awesome looking Econoline.
I just placed an order for a new fleet of service vehicles a couple of months ago and found out that Ford no longer manufactures an Econoline. New "Transits" are on their way! So long Econoline:(
Thanks Nicefice and jscott0363 for the kind comments.
I love redoing these, I'll have to post some more.
