      Looks like the GI liberated a German pouch along the way. I wonder what he kept in it - Compass? Cigarettes? We can only imagine, but I'm sure it served a purpose for this individual, and makes the whole set more interesting.

      I always have liked wartime web gear because it can show some individuality based on needs, preferences or experiences.

      During my service time, I remember a few ambush veterans who liked to carry an extra ammo pouch or two!

      One of the most important things I carried overseas was a p-38. It was a lot easier to open those cans with then using a knife or hitting a screwdriver with a hammer! Remenber those AWFUL powdered eggs, just add warm water, they looked like OD Green cottage cheese.

      I remember mermite green eggs and T- rat "styrofoam" eggs!
