    It is as big as my hand. Black/Green in color. It looks like some kind of copper under coat between the paint? And the red clay. Have no clue what it is! Help!

      I would say it is a Greek mythology pottery bowl with the kalos and kalee inscriptions. The copper undercoat is called a slip; I do not have enough knowledge to read the kalos inscriptions, but most depict both the myth, date and the artist. Sometimes a Greek restaurant has someone on staff who can read the graffiti of the artist. Most copies are marked England.
