I am trying to determine who made this crane. It is mine from the mid 60's As I recall it was originally Tonka yellow and the crane was black. It has the scoop shovel with it that works and it also had a magnet which is long gone. My Father repainted it sometime ago. It still works but I don't see any markings that tell who the manufacture is. I thought Tonka, but now I am not sure. So I am really just trying to find some information about it.
That is a Nylint Michigan crane. If it has dual headlights its 60's, the early ones had single headlights. The one I recently had was yellow and blue like yours although I think the yellow was a little darker.
It does have dual headlight... I am sure it is from the 60's as I played with it as a kid.. Yes I think the yellow was a little darker but I thought the crane was black originally.. it may have been blue it was a long time ago. I do remember that is had a magnet that replaced the clam shovel and it worked.. I can't tell you how much I played with it in the back yard.. but it has survived all these years.. Thank you.. I just looked up Nylint and there it is... And there is a picture with the shovel and the magnet....
Nice Nylint crane! Too bad it was repainted. It still looks good though.
Yes my Dad decided to repaint it.. it actually looked pretty good before he painted it.. Many of my toys from the 60's & 70's survived.. Not sure if they were just made better or I was not "hard" on them.. I had a very nice collection of GI stuff and Johnnie West that unfortuntely Dad decided to get rid of a few years back.. but somehow he hung onto this truck..
