Pocket watch appears gold, dated 1880, serial number is 101262, inscripted number on inside panel is stamped 1352 with a symbol below it. Appears to have many jewels visable. I have added a couple of close ups. It was inherited by my wife from her mother who recently passed away. I have the original purple felt lined box it came in. My wifes family lived in the Valley Forge area of Penn.
Appears to me to be a 14 karat gold casing, but on the picture of the movement, I can't make out the writing or the serial number of the watch. The case number won't lead you to any info on your watch. If you repost picture of the movement or comment on what is written and the number, someone on this site should be able to tell you more about this piece.
Serial # is 101262, which dates this watch to 1876. It was made the Illinios Watch Co. which later sold to Hamilton Watch Co. (1927) This is a Family treasure, guard it well. Thanks for sharing!
