I have collected Railroad Signs, Ticket Daters, Wax Sealers, and Lanterns for 30 + years. When I was young, I was told by a PRR Employee that all Station Signs on the Schuylkill Division north of Reading, PA were scrapped with the abolishment of Passenger Service. He went so far as to tell me he remembered smashing the Schuylkill Haven sign as it was too heavy to lift into the scrap car. Well, I guess one got saved, I was thrilled when this popped out in Florida just before the holiday. A great Christmas present to me.

I cringe when I think of the image of those signs being scrapped and destroyed. That sign is beautiful. Wish I could find the Villanova Station sign.

The Villa Nova sign was on Ebay around two years ago. There is a second one hanging on a barn in upstate PA.
