I am not real familiar with military footwear. The reason I think they are military is because they were in a duffle bag of WW II items that belonged to an Army officer. All other items in the bag were of WW II vintage. There are no markings of any kind inside them and they have seen considerable use as seen by the resoling job.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

They look like WW2 era US Army Jump Boots. The brown boot style was worn into the Korean War and into the mid 50s.

Was the officer in an airborne unit-- 101st/ 82nd?

There are some style differences, between the WW2 boots and the 50s ones that I don't recall at this time.

      scottvez,
Thanks for answering. No, actually he was a Battery Commander in the 190th Field Artillery Battalion. He took part in the Normandy invasion attached to the 4th Infantry Division.

Boots with Character, with a capitol C.

I like to see things in original condition but I also have a strong urge to polish shoes that need it. What to do...what to do.
