One of the great things about finding an old piece of silver is the history behind it. I recently acquired this piece and I can't imagine many exist anymore.
I found out that it was designed by John Polhamus. John Polhamus was a silversmith in New York from 1833-1874. He created items for Tiffany and Co. in the 1840's and worked with Henry Hebbard for a few years from 1852-1858.

The Spoon is marked as follows: HH & CO. Patent 1855 Tiffany & Co.

Condition is excellent; no dings, breaks or repairs, Overall length is 12.5 inches. Bowl is 4" by 2.5"

It is just a super piece but I haven't decided yet if I want to add it to my collection because I don't know if I want to branch out in another area. If anyone can supply me with more information, I would greatly appreciate it! You can email me at omegapm@aol.com
