I love the colors on this basket-- the contrast of the white cased glass with the all of the exterior colors. The clear thorn handle really complements the basket itself.

The basket has a smooth and polished pontil on the bottom.

This basket probably had its origins in the UK during the Victorian era.

You are probably right about its origin although the thorned handle is something I have seen on Kralik pieces around 1880's. It might be worth a look. Kralik glass of that era, in my experience, is what I would call 'hard' glass. By that I mean it seems brittle and chips easily.

It certainly looks a quality piece whatever it is. The greens and yellows also point in Kralik's direction but that's just my humble opinion.

Thanks frankie-- I appreciate your thoughts. It may be a Kralik piece.

My reason for thinking UK was the smooth, polished pontil on the bottom.
