    Hi,
I am trying to track down history on this Louis Marx train set I got from my Dad. He got it for Christams likely in 1938 or 1939. It has a faded numbe on the box (all original) of 4099. Bought at the American Auto in Scranton PA for $2.30.
Can anyone offer any history on this set? I have not seen one with Pullman cars and freight cars.
    thanks
    Don

Very nice set of trains and it is unusual for a Marx Set of that period to come with so many cars. Thanks for sharing.

We actually found out it is the MARX 8099 set from about 1939.
      Thanks for the comment!

Through the years Marx made a number of "combo" sets that mixed freight and passenger cars. Most came with steam engines, but some came with diesels.
