I have always wondered what this mite have been used for and ,how old it is. It looks like some type of flour or grain related tool. 10 "tall 6" wide.
    Anybody have an idea?

That is a flour sifter. You can see one like it here: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-metal-fries-flour-sifter-with-lid

I don't belong to the worth site anymore so can't see the values but I monitor the site for information. Thanks for sharing it.

The problem with Worthpoint is the information is only as good as the auction or ebay seller is. Not very trustworthy for info.

We have one of these and you would not even be able to turn it with flour in it.

After a lot of research the best I could find is that it's an egg whipper/beater. I could not find any old advertisement for the item although it is in one of the Kitchen Tools reference books.
