This letter I got from my Mom when I was doing a family tree on Ancestry.ca. I think it's date 30th of October 1908 but I'm not sure of the month or what it even says. Can any of you fine people read it?

Where did your ancestors come from?

On my Mother's side, her Father was born in Vankleek Hill,Ontario and with a last name of Deyotte I would say France. My Mom always said my Grandfather was french. Her Mom was born in Luxembourg. My father's side came from Scotland and his Mom's side was German. This letter is from my Mother's side of the family.

If you don't get any other responses, let me know. I re-connected with relatives in Luxembourg a few years ago and might be able to find someone to help interpret this. I don't recognize the language myself, but they use french, belgian, dutch and german (along with english) interchangably over there. Luxembourgish is a real challenge to get translated, though.

Well, I heard back and the response won't help you a lot, but will narrow your search, I think... (remember that, for the writer, English is like his fourth or fifth language ~ how many can you write in?).

"the Letter what you have send , I think its Danish.
I can't say what she has wrote but for me its danish language.
You must find a person who can speak danish. ( Sorry I can't help you
      and your friend )
