We are trying to identify this 1940s-50s Jeep pedal driven car. It does not appear to be a Hamilton or Garman from the photos we have seen so far. It has a tube behind the front bumper that may have held size D batteries, for a bulb that was in a light shown on the hood. If anyone can help us with this item, please do so.

Looks like it was made along the lines of a Kaiser or Willy's jeep.
Yes a CJ type body, from 1945-50, and I have yet to see a photo of a Garman, Hamilton, or Thistle Jeep that looks like this one. The windshield frame is what I'm lost on. THANKS for your input.
I know for sure that it's not a Thistle or a Triang...it looks like a Hamilton to me

This may be the Jeep pedal car that my Dad home built for us boys in Lansing ,MI. back in 1948-49. Is it possible to send better photos, especially of the chain drive and (under the hood) chassis views. Our pedal car had coil spring front suspension, trailing link (coil) rear suspension and a two-step sprocket chain drive . . . as well as a Crossley steering gear. Where was this one found, and where is it now? I'm very excited to learn more. Thanks. John Perkins (MI)
I had almost forgotten about this Jeep....it has been awhile. This Jeep did not have all that suspension you described. It was just a straight axle in the back and had slight movement in the front without coil springs. It had a simple chain drive as well. I bought the Jeep in an antique shop in old downtown Greensboro, NC in early 2012. I had it a month doing research on it to put in a description for an eBay auction. I never did find another one like it though nor have I seen one since. It did not meet reserve the first listing but on the second time, it was sold within seconds of auction's end. It went to a movie/ theater prop purchaser in NYC. I shipped it to an address in Manhattan. He received it and was very happy with the purchase and again, that was 2 years ago. I do not think this one was the one your looking for, but good luck with your treasure hunt.
Even after two years, would say the mystery to this Jeep remains unsolved.
I have a very similar jeep which has been in our family since the late 1940's. The red jeep shown in the above photo has a different rear deck arrangement than mine and some additional lettering (TIGER), but they appear to have been made by the same manufacturer. Mine is Khaki green and was manufactured in Arizona after the War. Our Uncle, who had moved out near Phoenix, sent it back to us in Illinois (between 1947-49). I've tried unsuccessfully for several years to find the name of the company who made it. It was made with heavy gauge metal. I will try to post a photo on a new Show and Tell as I can't find how to post one within this comment box.
Thank you for the comment Yes, the TIGER was added. I have never seen another one of these. This Jeep is now a movie prop in a warehouse in NYC.
