Here is a set of WW2 notched dog tags with the soldiers next of kin (NOK) address.

The 25 year old soldier was drafted and entered active duty on 3 OCT 1942.

The tag includes his serial number (32,560,800), immunization dates (T42/ 43) and blood type (A).

The bottom lines have his NOK address in Hackensack, NJ as well as his religion ("P", Protestant).

I have not done much research on the soldier and right now don't know his branch or unit of service.

The notch at the side was used to line the tag up in the "Addressograph Model 70". The machine was used to transfer dogtag information to paperwork-- similar to the old credit card machines.

    Thanks for looking,

    Scott

Link to the Addressograph Model 70, which is the reason for the notch on these early dog tags:

I found some information on MR Maass.

He served in the European theater as a Staff Sergeant and survived the war. The next of kin listed is his mother Emma.

      He lived to be 93.
